Pioneer Village – Close to town, Close to college

A tiny little quaint “village” feel. No over head wires to block great mountain and forest views. Hop on Pioneer trail and five minutes, you are at the heart of the entertainment or to the grocery store. Many of the homes look the same which gives the area a feeling of symmetry and cleanliness!!

Heavenly — Resort living at it’s best

Well, the reason I like Heavenly is the proximity to the Casinos, Nightlife, and, of course, Heavenly Ski Resort itself. You truly feel like you are in a resort area. Much of the redevelopment of South Lake Tahoe has taken place in this area from Heavenly Village itself to the sidewalk completion on Ski Run Blvd. The lake access is good too. Beach and Ski within five minutes of each other. Amazing!

Highland Woods — a great clean neighborhood

Love the fact that Highland Woods is one of the only neighborhoods in South Lake Tahoe that has power lines UNDERGROUND. Love this. Also, I like it that it’s quiet, almost hidden, from the rest of South Lake, but has outstanding convenience.

Al Tahoe — Historic Gem

I love Al Tahoe for many reasons. It’s loaded with history as one of the earliest settlements in the South Lake Tahoe. The subdivision is flat so riding your bike with your family and friends to the beach or to have a healthy lunch at my favorite restaurant, Sprouts, is such fun. Al Tahoe is centrally located, so no matter where you want to go, it’s not far. The access to Lake Tahoe itself and the beaches is unbeatable. My kids love that you can walk out into the water off the beach shores for what seems like eternity before it’s too deep to stand — a sign of independence to the kids. If the city’s 56-acre redevelopment project gets off the ground, this would make Al Tahoe and even better place to be!!! Hopefully, that’ll be soon.

Christmas Valley — A truly unbelievable recreation mecca

I didn’t know it when I bought my home here, but Christmas Valley, for an athlete and recreation enthusiasts, it just doesn’t get much better. From my home, I can access hundred of trails for mountain biking, trail running and hiking. In minutes, I can drive to one of my favorite back country skis, called Water House. In the winter, when the conditions are right, you can ski epic untracked powder from the top of Highway 50, to the Valley — in my case — right to the door. There is a seasonal waterfall only a short hike — one mile — that you’d think belonged in Yosemite. Old Meyers Grade aka — housewife hill, a favorite, less than an hour, walk — is the perfect exercise when you don’t have much time. I can go on and on about how great it is. What is it NOT is close access to what I call “casino life” or “night life”. In this case, you’d be better off near Stateline. I love my neighborhood in South Lake Tahoe and would buy real estate here again and again!!
